ok so i decided that i am going to really push myself and my work out to people over the summer. so here i have designed a magazine portfolio, its printed on an A2 sheet of paper, then is folded down to A5.

the pieces included have been chosen by myself as they show different capabilites, such as vector, abstract, photography and photo-manipulation. im thinking of getting these printed and sending them off to companies and magazines.

also if people are interested, they can purchase them too, not sure on a price yet

finally, any one who can recommend decent printers that are resonably priced then please tell me :)

EDIT: address has now been blurred, for reasons i wont say but looking at you mr banks! hehe ;) :P

You should definitely work on that jennifer anniston vector a bit...And the whole gorilla thing-I'd enjoy it, but it might not strike as too professional (if you have the balls though; go for it.)
I can't reconcile with the missing letters, I dunno...perhaps just missing parts would be better

The rest of the design, typography and placement, and colors, kicks ass, as usual. I would definitely take a closer look at this from its cover.

the missing letters tick me off. i just... don't like them. oh and you have a typo in the pink speech bubble: house has a line in it so its
"hous
e"

which i assume is not good

and just letting you know. if you've vectored copyrighted photographs you can't use them in a portfolio (damn) so the nice people at GQ don't rip your head of and stuff your magazine down your throat. and also it's not very professional to have others work in your portfolio (the pose, the design, the lighting etcetera isn't yours).

and just a thought... what goes on the other side?

and another thought. it's a billion times cheaper to print 2 A3 pages than it is to print an A2 page. a you can probably print 5 A3 pages for the same price as 1 A2 page.

nice idea tho...

ok thanks for pointing out the typo, not the final design, just a quick run over i did whilst bored on the sofa this afternoon.

about the GQ thing, well it is my work if i have vectored it, and i know they arent stock photos but meh, will see how it goes.

about what goes on the otherside, the way that you fold it makes it so that its all ok.

about cost, aint to bothered tbh, with a3 size it wud be too small for the pages, with them a5 size, the prints can then be postcard size.

Cool idea, worth doing im sure. Although i can read the text well, im sure some people might not. The type is extremely close in some parts where two/three letters merge into one big one. That style looks sweet, i like it a lot. But some (probably more then some) might not see it the way we would.
I'm talking about your name under the speaker, first page. The e, t and e are so close. If the people who recieve this when printed don't read the speach bubble, and just go down to your name then they might not know what it reads.
